Pharrell’s ‘Happy’ was the most-played song of the 2010s in the UK


The 2013 single has topped an inventory of the most-played songs broadcast on UK radio and tv since 2010, with Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ at quantity two, and ‘Moves Like Jagger’ by Maroon 5 that includes Christina Aguilera at quantity three.

She explained: “Pharrell is simply such a vibrant particular person and artist, so I actually loved making that report with him and collaborating with Snoop [Dogg] once more on that song.

“It wasn’t my usual session, because I did the vocals there with [Pharrell] in the studio. Usually I go in by myself and just do whatever I’m feeling, but it was a real collaborative moment.

“I felt like it was a really strong album cut, but I didn’t see it as the first single for me, because I thought it was too different. I think we really made the right choice artistically to work [with Pharrell].”
