Airtel expands content deal with CuriosityStream to cover DTH service


MUMBAI: Bharti Airtel has expanded its content deal with factual leisure firm CuriosityStream to begin providing premium content from CuriosityStream to its direct-to-home (DTH) subscribers at no further price.

With the deal in place, Airtel Digital TV, the DTH unit of Airtel, will supply the complete catalogue of CuriosityStream’s factual leisure movies and sequence on channel 419 to over 16.5 million subscribers of Airtel Digital TV.

“We brought CuriosityStream content to India about six months back on our mobile platform. Today, we are further strengthening this partnership to become the first and only DTH provider in India to offer the content to customers on their television via the set-top-box enabling an easy access to all the exclusive content to the entire family,” mentioned Sunil Taldar, CEO – DTH, Bharti Airtel.

Launched by John Hendricks, the founding father of Discovery Channel, CuriosityStream lets viewers discover their passions and uncover new ones hundreds of movies and sequence overlaying area, artwork, volcanoes, historical past, journey, vehicles, structure, dinosaurs and extra.
